Since this blog is limited in features, and privacy, and usability, and just about anything else you can think of, Steve has a brilliant idea that we post our news, photos, videos, and events over at http://simonsonfamily.ning.com.
It’s pretty handy so far. Even you should be able to use it.
Jenny’s newborn boy, Jonathon Parker, is celebrating his 0th birthday today amid much crying and sleeping.
In other news, Jenny was the first person in our family to pick the name of her child by putting it to a vote via an internet poll.
That’s crazy! Honestly, how do you even know who voted? What if it was mostly belly rubbers who voted? What makes you think you care about the opinion of these people?
Motion to strike this name from the record! Those in favor? Those opposed?
Hello Family,
I just wanted to post some news from Malaya and I. First, her 4th birthday was a success. We had it at the park, it was a beautiful sunny day, her friends came and it was a strawberry shortcake b-day.
Next, Rich and I filed for divorce. If any of you didn’t know, he left back in January. He said he was done being married.
Therefore, I am now divorced AGAIN (idiot Rich), and I have done a complete 360 with my name. Yes, I am Valerie SIMONSON again. Malaya is still Angeles, but I am a Simonson again.
Finally, I got a new car. Not brand new, but new to me. My ford escort was truly about to die, needed $1,000 worth or repair, so I traded it in, while I still had a car to trade, and got me a 2000 Dodge Stratus. It is amazing to me that I have power locks, windows, everything!! and a cd, tape player, and radio. This amazes me too because I have never had power anything in a car, and I have never had more than just a radio in a car. My car is silverey green. I love it. And I figured out last night that it has the kind of lights that turn off by itself. WOw, ya never had that either.
So that is the update from Malaya and Val. I miss each of you and wish we lived closer!!
Love Val and Malaya
Hi Everyone!!!
I just wanted to tell you all that Malaya is planning her own birthday party. She has been telling everyone, including strangers, people at restaurants, and every friend, and cousin, in speaking distance that she is having her birhday party at BLAFT OFF!! It is really called Blast off and it is a place kinda like Mcdonalds play land, but way way bigger. It is here in Idaho Falls. When I correct her and tell her that her birthday party will be at the park, she puts her hands on her hips, raises her eyebrows, and says “but mommy I want my strawberry shortcake burtday at Blaft off.”
Also, one of the dollar stores here in town was going out of business, and I took her in with me, and she ran to the plates and picked out flourecent pink, and flourecent purple plates, napkins, and silverware. Then put them into the basket, with out even asking me. And said there Mom, there is my strawberry shortcake plates Mom, and I get to pass them out kay mom, ‘cuase I a big, big, girl, right mom.” Oh she cracks me up. I am sure that it is way funnier in person, than just typing it, but at least you all have a cute little update from Malaya, A.K.A Pretzel, Sassy Pants, Mama’s fweetheart (sweetheart.).
On Friday, Nov. 10th Val and Rich were married in Idaho Falls. I (Jenny) was fortunately able to be there, along with Mom, Dad, Kristin, Holly, Mike and all of Rich’s large family. Our sister is now Mrs. Parks, and they are a cute new little family. Welcome to the family Rich.

Hello everyone! It’s nice to see all of the blogs and comments from everyone. I’ve been trying to stay fairly up to date with the Crocketts blog, but I’m going to give a good go at staying up to date on the Simonson’s blog too. Well, hmmmm….. news. Have I got any? Hard to say- Oooh! Right! I have some pretty big news. You all pretty much know that Morgan has been working as a heavy equipment mechanic since we moved down to Arizona so he’s got a good 3 years or so experience now. He started out as a mechanic’s apprentice and he loves the place he’s currently working at (Ace Asphalt). He was recently moved up from mechanic’s apprentice to mechanic. The news though, is that he just got a job offer from a different company called Ecco. This company offered him $5.50 per hour more than Ace Asphalt is currently paying him! Whoooo-hooooo!
I’m very excited at the whole thing, but mostly I’m really proud of Morgan. He’s such a fast learner and he’s so great at what he does. Everyone at Ace has nothing but great things to say about him (and I should know, I just went to the company picnic and met everybody last week!) and apparently Ecco thinks some pretty nice things about him too! You’d all just have to be here to see it. Morgan is THE guy at work. There are people older than him and younger than him, some being paid more and some being paid less and not necessarily in that order. But no matter the age, position or status, everyone at Ace likes and respects him. I know he’s going to love the new place too. Good job Morgan!!!
If you rarely attempt to post to SimonsonFamily.com, you may not have noticed, but we have switched systems…er, that is, I have switched us.
The new system is called WordPress. It is pretty much identical to blogger in terms of functionality, but it allows us to do a lot more cool stuff. Also, at the same time, I’ve made some more behind the scenes changes to SimonsonFamily.com that will allow us to post pictures, use email (with super spam protection), and keep track of important dates.
If you had a blogger username and password, you can use that to login and post. If you did not, you’ll need to register.
If anybody wants a fancy shmancy email address @simonsonfamily.com, email me at bryan [at] simonsonfamily [dot] com.
You can either have it forward to your current one, or have your own POP email account.
Steve brought it to my attention that many of you may not have received your invitation emails so that you can post to this website.
If you didn’t, respond to this post via the comment link below and give me your name and email address.
